You are invited to stop by the field-fill out the contact form and we will get back to you A.S.A.P. with directions and times. Club members will be glad to talk model flying/building with you or if you've got one we can check it out for you and offer any advice. Bring it to the field on a Saturday or Sunday and ask one of the club instructors to give it a pre-flight checkout, and if you want ( if all checks out OK), they can give it a check out flight. Be aware that a current AMA membership card is required for Guests flyers and Club members to fly at our field. An instructor will get you flying via a 'Buddy Box" which is simply a way of hooking your radio to his . If while flying and have a problem the instructor can take control instantly with the flip of a switch. This is highly recommended, not because we just want to fly your plane (we do !) but because a qualified pilot has the experience to make any adjustments during flight and to handle almost any problems that arise from a plane that hasn’t been set up just right. If your already an experienced guest- pilot, you are required to fly a club buddy boxed aircraft to demonstrate your flying abilities in a safe manor prior to flying your own aircraft. A club instructor must pre flight your equipment and be by your side while flying at our site.
Learning to fly is not difficult, Its just a lot different than any thing you've done before. Anyone can learn to fly R/C if they are willing to learn, listen and conduct them-selves in a safe manner. What seems awkward at first quickly becomes easy later. Our club is full of members who are aircraft enthusiasts and can provide a full range of information from building to flying both R/C fixed wing (airplanes) and rotary wing (helicopters ). A few of our current instructors are also AMA Introductory Pilot Certified Instructors.
